How to prepare for your GMAT
- Get into the mode of reading and writing at least a year before you think of sitting for your GMATs. There is no point in thinking that you can suddenly walk into a center and be able to do the test well.
- Extensive reading leads to clear writing because you have developed a formidable database in your head. Therefore, it is good to read and prepare for the test, well in advance.
- Comprehension of the question is extremely important. If you do not understand the question fully, you cannot answer it well. There could be a few hidden messages in the question that will be apparent to you, only when you have practiced answering such questions. Hence, repeatedly practice the writing task.
- Your aim should be to maximize your score – therefore, work towards it.
- Concentrate on basic sentence construction and grammar. Do not try to put in slang words or didactic phrases – they do not help in any way.
