A good essay is one which like a great dish has everything in the right proportion. It is important to use some tricks to make your essay good. There are a number of ways in which you can make your essay good. The most obvious of them would be to spell the words correctly, write the essay in a clear way, and construct the essay properly. Writing of the essay depends on the question itself. The all important part is to plan how you are going to write your essay. A clear thought process and a little bit of perseverance will do the trick for you.
Checking out the topic:
When you get the question, look at it carefully; if it is in the form of a question you will have to present your opinion. Do not spend more than two minutes for this, in the end it could prove to be a very important two minutes. When you finish analysing the question jot down all the points you know about the subject. This is very important as it provides a basis for you to write your essay.
The importance of making a rough draft:
Then as and when you feel confident about writing, proceed; but it is always better to make a rough copy. This allows you check whether your essay is good or bad. Never forget that you have to divide your essay into paragraphs, this makes it more organized. If you do not know enough about the topic then you will have to do some research on the chosen topic. Once you have sufficient information you are ready to start. Remember all essays have a beginning, middle and an end. So divide your essay into an introduction, the body of the essay and the conclusion.
Focus on the writing:
When you actually start writing your essay, you need to concentrate on making it a good essay and not one that will be trashed by your teacher. So, never rush into anything. Use the points that you have already written and elaborate on them. Add more points as and when you feel it is necessary. It is always good to check your essay many times before you submit it. The introduction of the essay has to be a short explanation of the topic. Do not spend too much time on writing the introduction.
Coming to the all important part of your essay: this is the part which decides whether your essay is good or bad. This part is also called as the body of the essay. Here you will have to explain exactly what you want to say about the topic. This should be the longest part of the essay. Finally your conclusion should show that you have achieved all that you had intended to when you started writing. In other words a good essay is one that ends on a note of connection. Make the connection between the intro and the conclusion in order to make it coherent and sequential.
