Describing the main character
The whole movie revolves around one main character –Truman Burbank, of course-. He is an insurance salesman who lives what he believes is a happy life, with his wife Meryl, his best friend Marlon and her mother, in a small town called Seahaven. However, one day things begin to change: a strange artifact falls from the sky, and Truman runs into his supposedly dead father. Truman doesn’t know that he is the star of a television show –a reality based on his life, which he thinks is real but is actually taken place in a huge set. His wife, his mother and everyone else around him are actors following a script. Every event in his life is controlled by the creator of the show, Christoff (a wonderful performance of Ed Harris).
